Royal tuffstone - the building material of choice of Kings
Royal tuffstone
The limestone geological substrate of these plateaus was largely quarried to build the castles and famous wine cellars of the Loire Valley. The quarries of shell marl from the tertiary era, were mined in open quarries above and underground. The quarries were then often transformed and used to dig fabulous cellars.
ARCave uses nothing but massive tuff blocks to build your winetemple. Tuff is a natural insulator and regulates humidity. Before refrigerators were invented tuffstone wells were used to prevent ice from melting in summer.
Our Royal tuff product range features the following elements:
- Tuff facing blocks
